About Us

Bilingual Sounds SLP is an out-of-network speech-language pathology practice that provides bilingual, family/client-centered, culturally and linguistically responsive, and trauma-informed speech-language and feeding services to children birth-21 in New York City. We provide a full range of services including assessment, individual and group therapy, coaching, and professional development.

Our Mission: To empower caregivers and professionals in our diverse community through partnership and collaboration by providing equitable access to high-quality services.

Meet Our Founder

Bilingual Sounds was founded in 2021 by Dr. Paula Pineda, SLPD, CCC-SLP, TSSLD our founder. Dr. Pineda, received her Clinical Doctorate (SLPD) in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University in 2023 and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Adelphi University in 2011. She is a dedicated bilingual speech-language pathologist with a profound passion for empowering families with young children. With 13 years of experience in the field, and 20+ working with young children and families, she has honed her skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and feeding disorders in children. 

In 2021, Dr. Pineda became a university lecturer at Teachers College, Columbia University, and in 2023 at Stony Brook University. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge related to best practices when working with the pediatric population and helping train the new generation of speech-language pathologists and teachers. 

Dr. Pineda believes in a collaborative approach, working closely with families and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans that address each child's unique needs. She is committed to fostering effective communication skills in young children, enriching their lives and setting them up for success. Through her compassionate and family- and client-centered approach, Dr. Pineda strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families [he/she] serves.
